<P>The<STRONG><EM> </EM>Competent Crew</STRONG> course involves 2 full days on the water though there is also an option to do an overnight course and stay on the yacht in a beautiful National Park bay. There are regular courses running throughout the year. <BR><BR>This course builds on the basics learned in the Introductory Course and introduces some more advanced topics to further your knowledge & enjoyment on the water. </P></TD></TR></TABLE>

<P><BR>You will learn how to use the safety equipment on board your yacht, how to communicate properly using a VHF radio, fire-fighting, metereology - where to obtain forecasts and how to interpret them, reefing sails, boat handling, preparing a vessel for strong wind, how to pick up a person overboard under sail and power, navigation, additional rules of the road, picking up a mooring, rowing a dinghy, berthing alongside and the correct way to drop an anchor so you can sleep peacefully at night!<BR> <BR>The course is aimed at building your confidence on the water on a yacht, so you can actively participate as part of a crew. You will start to engage tasks without being prompted, things really are starting to click!<BR> <BR>Courses are conducted primarily on our NEW Bavaria 39 sail training yacht which has been set up specifically for training in comfort, safety and style.<BR><BR>There is a maximum of 4 students per course so you can be assured of great tuition and lots of fun. All food is provided but if staying overnight please bring your own nightcap!<BR><BR><STRONG>Competent Crew course costs $ 445</STRONG></P></TD></TR></TABLE>
